Swathi & Vijay are an artist duo whose practice begins with observing everyday life, the people around them, and the questions that often go unnoticed.
Both hold a Master’s degree in Fine Arts from JNTU, Hyderabad. They chose to build a path where life and art remain inseparable— allowing their practice to evolve organically from what they see, feel, and encounter.
Their journey took them to Paris as winners of the French Embassy and Krishnakriti Foundation Fellowship, selected from across India to live and study at the prestigious École Nationale Supérieure des Beaux-Arts (ENSBA).
Since then, their practice has travelled across countries, shaped by diverse places, people, and perspectives.
Their canvas extends beyond conventional art spaces—from rural government schools to hospitals and public spaces—where art can engage, heal, and inspire.
Their work is not made simply to beautify a space, but to confront what is overlooked, provoke thought, and awaken a sense of responsibility towards change.
At the core of their practice is a raw, instinctive, and unfiltered way of seeing. Their strong conceptual sensibility is expressed through a minimal, contemporary visual language—stripped of excess and driven by observation.
Rawness is not merely an aesthetic choice, but a way of confronting reality, allowing the work to remain direct, open, and responsive to the world around them.
